Haroun Welcomes SPLM (Nuba Mountains Sector) as Partners in the Upcoming Stage

Kadugli – NCP candidate for South Kurdofan State Governor post, Ahmed Haroun said that his party is keen to conduct fair and free complementary elections in the State.
Haroun called on the political forces to avoid making the elections a battlefield and to become objective in its address.
He reiterated the NCP welcoming to the SPLM (Nuba Mountains Sector) as partners in the upcoming stage adding that they will accompany them with other serious forces to complete the course.
Haroun, who was addressing a press conference, said that the NCP leadership is keen to keep the SPLM as part and parcel of the political component of the State.
He disclosed that the multi-ethnic variety does not form any crisis within the State's community.
Home News: Directives for Darfur Referendum Registrations

Khartoum - Vice-President Ali Osman Mohamed Taha has directed the National Election Commission (NEC) to embark on technical preliminary measures for preparing referendum in Darfur on the administrative status of the region.
The Darfur referendum is scheduled for this April according to Darfur Peace Agreement (DPA) that stipulated holding a referendum in the region 12 months after general elections on whether to maintain the current administrative structure of having three states or having one region.
The vice-president met with the members of the NEC at the General Secretariat of the Cabinet in the presence Dr. Ghazi Salahudin, Advisor to the President, in charge of Darfur Dossier, Dr. Mohamed Al-Mukhtar Hassan Hussein, State Minister for the Cabinet.
