Our Assistance to Sudan Will Continue: Kuwaiti Ambassador
Khartoum - Kuwait's Ambassador to Sudan, Talal Mansur Al Hajri said Kuwait's Fund for Arab Economic Development Assistance to Sudan would remain intact, saying the fund has offered contributing to 26 projects for development, infrastructures, dams and roads. He cited Kuwait's hosting in 2010 Eastern Sudan donors' conference with a broad participation of Arab and international funds, the outcome of which was the raising of $ 3 billion.
The Ambassador, in an interview with Ashorooq TV, disclosed that diplomatic arrangements are underway to convene the joint ministerial committee. "Kuwaiti humanitarian assistance to Sudan is imposed by relations between the two countries," he said, appreciating Sudanese contribution to educational renaissance in Kuwait.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister, Ali Karti praised the role played by Kuwait towards realizing stability and peace in Sudan, saying that Kuwaiti support aims at developing Sudanese infrastructure.
Karti stated yesterday that Kuwait has donated many development projects as well as its major role in Eastern Sudan development fund.
"The two countries have signed many agreements during the last Arab ministerial meeting conducted in Khartoum, we have the same views over Arab countries issues especially Palestinian issue" he added.
